In the letter, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pointed out that the situation that China ’s integrated circuit industry core technology is subject to human constraints has not fundamentally changed There is an urgent need to strengthen core technology research to ensure supply chain security and industrial security. In addition to pointing out that under the current complicated international situation, the development lag of industrial semiconductor materials, chips, devices and insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) modules will restrict the conversion of new and old kinetic energy and industrial transformation in China and put forward a series of industrial measures. In particular, the reply letter pointed out that "the establishment of a first-class integrated circuit subject should be promoted, and the exemplary microelectronics college should be further strengthened and strengthened."
The establishment of a first-level discipline related to integrated circuits has been discussed for many years, but it has not been able to take shape due to various controversies. With the continuous development and changes of disciplines, the original division of first-level disciplines has indeed limited the cultivation of integrated circuit talents in China, which has affected the healthy development of China's integrated circuit industry. In the context of Sino-US trade friction, this issue has been greatly magnified. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as the industry's competent unit, has painful feelings about the "death of talent" in the development of the industry. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has also been actively promoting the reform of integrated circuit talent training. This statement also demonstrates the strong willingness of the national ministries and commissions represented by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to promote the integrated circuit industry.
